Mission Update

Parker's been out for almost 8 months! Time is flying so quickly!

He was transferred from Idyllwild to the Lake Elsinore area last week. His new companion is Elder Bushman from Texas, and "he's super cool!" (Parker's words) Elder Bushman is his third companion, and all three have been awesome.  I'm so thankful for this, as a mission can be difficult enough without having a difficult companion.

Now, for a picture update (and I don't know where most of these are or who's in them. I'm just thankful to have them!):

A carving in Idyllwild

Yes. It snowed in Idyllwild. I don't think our boy expected to have snow on his California mission. :)

The house he and his companion lived in in Idyllwild. Pretty, huh? Except for when it got cold the heater didn't work. Thankfully, some members brought them a heater.
A zone conference
One of his first days in Idyllwild
The day he left his first zone to transfer to his second zone and the Lake Elsinore area. Doesn't he look good?!?!
It has been so fun to "see" through emails from Parker and a new friend from his first zone, Sister Rex, how he has grown and matured during these short 8 months. Idyllwild was the most difficult area in his mission, but he handled those months with a great attitude and very little discouragement. In fact, Sister Rex said that he and his companion had been one of the more successful companionships in that area in years! I can tell Parker is really learning to follow the Spirit and do what the Lord wants him to do, and he's learning to do everything with patience and a positive perspective.

So proud of him! :)
