These babies came in the mail Thursday:
Yep!
Brand new running shoes!
I was so excited!
I immediately opened the box and took a big whiff.
Now, don't think I'm too strange, but there's just something about the smell of new running shoes that I absolutely love! Maybe it's the smell of new miles to run and new thoughts to think and new goals to reach.
Love.
And the laces are not white!
Love. Love.
And the shoe makers didn't do a repeat of colors from past models, which gets kind of boring.
Love. Love. Love.
So I took them out for a run Friday morning and Kam went with me because she's home for a few days. It's been so, so, so good having her home. She leaves tomorrow and I will really miss her! But I'm going to Arizona in three weeks to transition new renters into our extra house, so I'll get to see her then because she's moving to Arizona in 2ish weeks with the awesome family she's nannying for.
Perfect, right?!
So it won't be quite so hard to say goodbye to her tomorrow because I know I'll see her in just a few weeks.
Back to the new running shoes...
They did great on my run! It's always kind of funny that I don't realize how badly I need new running shoes until I actually run in new running shoes.
It's almost like running on pillows. It's that good. :)
And it was fun to have Kam to run with because Diane is in Utah enjoying a brand new grandson. She's been gone for 1 1/2 weeks and will be gone for almost 2 more weeks. I do miss running with her. A lot. But I've gone out anyway--all by myself, which is something I'm honestly quite proud of because it's so much harder to hit the pavement when Diane's not waiting for me--and it's going okay. Actually, some mornings have gone better than okay and I've had a great run! But I'll sure be excited when she's back, because it's so hard to solve the problems of the world all by myself. :)
