What I'm reading.

I love to read!

Unfortunately, my life is pretty crazy right now so I don't get much time to read for fun.

And that's okay. That's the season I'm in, and it's a fun type of crazy. Well mostly, anyway.

However, I do read at night. It helps me turn off my brain so I can go to sleep.

But I've found I have to be pretty picky about what I read, because I find the next night when I go to read where I left off the night before, I often don't remember anything from what I was reading, and I have to go back several pages before I remember what's going on.

And that is very frustrating.

Or I get so involved in a book that I can't put it down and I stay up most of the night reading.

That is not good either. It makes for a very long and very sleepy day.

So I try and choose favorite books I've read over and over again (Pride & Prejudice, for example), or books where I'm familiar with what happens.

The past while this series has been my bedtime reading:

I'm on book #5.

I read this series many years ago and love the PBS series.

Anne (with an "e") is a great protagonist. She's funny, adventurous, trouble-prone, and a really nice person.

I would like to think we could be kindred spirits.

I also like that she exemplifies great qualities.

And I also love that I can read these books without the worry of raunchy stuff being thrown in.

I'm also rereading this:

I absolutely love this book! Even the second time around. And I cannot wait for Julianne's second book to be released in September. She's already working on her third book, and that is pretty exciting too!

When I'm done with Edenbrooke, I have a rather large stack of books I want to read next. I don't think I'll run out of things to read anytime soon.

Probably for years, at least.

Maybe my next season will include more for-fun reading time.

Or maybe not. :o)

Baby bird update: The babies are now a week old, they have their eyes open, and it's so fun to watch the momma and daddy birds feed them. It must be exhausting. Every once in a while one lays his/her head on the edge of the nest and peeks into the house. Sometimes all six have their little mouths open waiting for food--at the same time. We're wondering how all of them are going to fit in the nest for much longer. So fun!
