Life just got a wee bit crazier on Saturday.

Parker got this in the mail on Saturday:

We were so very surprised!

Even before the announcement of the lowering of the missionary age (which has resulted in it taking longer to receive mission calls because so many applications are being submitted), it used to take three weeks to get your mission call once your papers were submitted. Parker's papers were submitted two weeks ago tomorrow. His mission call was postmarked last Tuesday, which was one week after his papers were submitted.

So yes, we were very surprised!

He's been called to serve in the California Riverside Mission, and he reports to the MTC (Missionary Training Center) in Provo, Utah, on Wednesday, March 13.

We have  a lot of stuff to do in the next 6 weeks.

Only 6 weeks.

Zach had 4 1/2 months from when he receive his call until he reported, and that was a bit too long. He was ready to go long before the 4 1/2 months were over.

But I'm sure things will go well, because after all, he's been called to serve by the Lord. We just need to get a good checklist in place and start checking things off.

We did buy our plane tickets Saturday night so that we can take him to the MTC. We fly out a couple of days early so that we can go to Rexburg so that he can spend some time with Zach and Kam and my sister and her family before he leaves. Otherwise, they wouldn't get to see each other for over two years.

We have a crazy and exciting few weeks ahead of us.

But I really wouldn't want it any other way, and although I'll really miss him, I wouldn't want him to be anyplace else.

And I'm pretty excited that he'll be serving in my original neck of the woods.

Yes, life is good. :o)
