He really shouldn't have (but I'm so excited he did!).

I first must say that I miss having little kids around on Christmas morning. Finally, at 9:30 a.m., John texted the kids and said, "Merry Christmas! Now get up."

And they did.

I remember when they were little they'd all sleep in the same room and we'd give them a baby monitor. They had to call us on the baby monitor and couldn't leave the room until we came and got them, and after they called really early in the morning, we also told them they couldn't call us before 4:00 a.m. So we'd get a call promptly at 4:00 a.m. Every year. A few years ago we learned that, for years, they'd been sending Parker into the living room before they called us and he'd report back to them what Santa had brought.

Sneaky kids.

Now, back to this year.

When we were just about finished opening presents yesterday morning, John told me that the big box under the tree was mine.

I had told him that all I wanted for Christmas this year was to have all our kids home.

Evidently he didn't listen very well.

I opened the big box and there was a smaller box inside.

He's tricky that way.

I opened up the smaller box and found these:

"Huh?" I said.

I didn't get it.

Then he handed me this in an Apple Store bag:

Oh yeah.

I was so excited!!!

He said the guys at work saw my original "ipad" and thought it was pretty funny.

I'm sure they did.

But the real ipad is pretty awesome!

And although I really was perfectly happy with the gift of having all our kids home for Christmas, this unexpected gift was pretty fabulous!

And I've been having fun learning to use it and getting it all set up.

I always tell John that he is pretty fancy with his ipad.

Now I guess that I am pretty fancy too. :o)
