Six things that don't even really go together.

Fall is here!

I love fall. I think it might be my most favorite time of the year, except maybe for spring. Maybe they tie as my most favorite times of the year.

Anyway.

I watched outside my big window (by where I study) earlier this week as Sandy's winds blew most of the colorful leaves off the trees. Thankfully we still have a lot of green ones left that will hopefully change into beautiful fall colors. Tomorrow we're heading up north to see if we can find some fall leaves, because Sandy wreaked havoc up there too. We shall see. I am so thankful we didn't get anything worse than wind from Sandy, and am praying for those who did. It has been sad to watch the news stories this week.

Here is the extent of our fall decorating, and I just did this this morning, after finally finding the box where my door wreath things were packed. Yes. Evidently I didn't even put out a fall wreath last year.

At least people will be greeted with fall when they come to the front door. And since I just found this box, evidently I didn't decorate this wreath for spring or summer this year. Or the year before. Hmmmm...

And speaking of missing boxes, earlier this week I was looking for something for my Young Womens lesson this Sunday. It's called "Courage to Try," so I was looking for my first and last drawings from the drawing class I took a few years ago. Let me tell you, I had to have a lot of courage to even post this picture because my first drawing was really bad! (I guess that's why we take classes - to get better. Duh). And lest ye think I had a really great tan that year, we had to do our final picture in shadow.

I was in our storage room in the basement, kinda' frantically looking for this poster (shown above) that I'd done for a Relief Society activity a few years ago (when we were supposed to display some things we'd accomplished recently), and found another missing box. In this box was my smaller paper slicer I've been looking for for about two years! Awesome! But this poster wasn't in that box, or in several others. It was in my portfolio thing I used to transport my watercolor paper to my watercolor class I took a few years ago. Why it was in there, I have no idea. But I found it.

I'm starting week 9 of 14 weeks in Crazy Semester #1! Only 5 (!!) more to go! Then 14 more weeks in next semester and I'm D.O.N.E.!!!  So, to memorialize part of this semester for generations to come, because I'm sure this will be so interesting to them, here is how I keep track of all the school things I need to do each week (and also because I obviously really like to cross things off of lists):

The lower one is from the week I had just finished, and the upper one was from the beginning of last week. And every day I have a sticky note that tells me what I need to accomplish for that day. Last week was a bit of a lighter week, which was really nice. And we studied Wordsworth in my Brit Lit class, which was awesome!

And this is a picture of Abby from last night.  What a rough life she leads.

I was trying to finish up an assignment and she came and sat by my chair. I looked down at her and she was really shivering, so I wrapped her up burrito-style in a blanket and sat her on my lap. She did not move. She sat like this for about an hour until I had to go do something else. Then I gave her to John and she sat with him like this for awhile longer. I'm not sure why my hand looks totally creepy in this picture.

Another random thing I've been meaning to blog about: I went to Time Out For Women a couple of weekends ago. Diane and I got to be team members, which means that we helped with publicity before and then with other things during the event. I got to greet the ladies as they came into the venue and answer any questions. It was really fun! Here's a picture of our Atlanta TOFW team:

Lastly, I get to register for my Very Last Undergraduate Semester Monday morning at 8 am! I've talked to Academic Advising a few times this week to clear up some little things on my transcript (like a Money Management class I took which is called "The Far East" instead. Go figure.), and to make sure that I really am good to go to graduate in April. They have been very helpful and patient. I just don't want to get into next semester and find out I've missed something. That would be awful!

Now I need to go finish up a few little things from this week and get started on next week.

Happy fall, ya'll!
