[8/18/12] This book kept me awake into the wee hours of the morning. Three times.

My friend Diane recommended this book to me and even let me borrow it. She is such a good friend! Except for the fact that I lost a lot of sleep because of her good friendliness. ;o)

You can buy it here.

It was really good! Diane's mom read it first and says she liked it even better than Edenbrooke. I don't know that I'd go that far, but it was really, really good. And this author has several more books that I'd like to read. Two have even won Christy Awards, an award that is dedicated to "Honoring and Promoting Excellence in Christian Fiction." I really enjoy reading books that I don't have to worry about finding bad language and/or immoral stuff within their pages.

The Maid of Fairbourne Hall was so good that I couldn't put it down. That's why I was awake into the wee hours of the morning for a few nights. After the first two times, I told myself that I needed to read during the day so as to not stay up quite so early into the morning, but I finally gave in Sunday night and just finished it because I wanted to see what happened. And I wasn't disappointed.

This book had a good share of suspense, "proper" romance, and just plain fun.  I'm going to load a couple more Klassen books onto my Kindle for my trip with Parker in a few weeks (my local library has them in their ebooks section. Yeah!). I'm taking him to BYU-Idaho to get him settled in for school. Those few days in Idaho will be my last chance for awhile to read for "fun." School starts the day I get home.

Oh boy.
