[7/30/12] Salsa and the Olympics and a cake.

Friday was Kam's birthday. Since John was in Massachusetts with yet another start up, which we are so very thankful for even though all these start ups mean that he has been working and traveling a ton, we are doing her birthday dinner this weekend.

I got ambitious and made some of my friend Diane's awesome salsa.  I got a new chopper thing which made it so much easier:

I whipped through chopping peppers and tomatoes and an onion in nothing flat.

And the salsa was so yummy!

I'm telling you, this stuff is so good that you pretty much want to just skip the chips and eat it with a spoon, and you could seriously just drink the juice that forms after it sits for a bit. I may or may not have done both.

While I was salsa-ing, Kam made a Birthday-slash-Olympics cake. Very impressive!

Then we watched the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics.  I love, love, love the Olympics. It's a good thing my classes don't start until September 10th because I'm pretty much going to be totally absorbed in the Olympics for the next two weeks. And it must be genetic, in the female way anyways, because my girls are also Olympics lovers.

Parker, not so much. John not so much, either.

But they both put up with us and our Olympics love pretty well.

They're pretty good that way.

And the Olympics do only come around every two years.
