Parker's track banquet was held on May 15, 2012. I was hoping to be able to go, but wasn't feeling up to it with it being 4 days post-surgery and all. I think I really had no idea how much this surgery was going to affect me...
Anyways.
Parker received a Varsity letter as well as the Senior Leadership Award. We did not know he was going to receive that award, so it was pretty exciting! The coach who gave him the award said he has a son named Parker and that he would be very happy for his son to turn out like our Parker. Awesome! He also talked about how Parker was a leader to the team and especially to the younger pole vaulters since they didn't have a pole vaulting coach again this year. Parker kind of assumed the role of coach.
We are so proud of you, Parker!!!
