The State Boy's Track Meet was held in Jefferson, Georgia, May 10-12, 2012. Parker vaulted the day before my hysterectomy. I'm so thankful my surgery had to be changed to the following day so I could watch him vault at the state meet.
He did really well! He hit 12' pretty easily on the first try, but wasn't able to hit 12'6". We were so proud of him, but he was a little bit disappointed. Several other boys went out at 12' too, but that didn't make him feel any better.
I stopped taking pictures because I was too nervous for him, so this is the best one I got.
He placed twelfth, which I think is pretty awesome considering Georgia is a large state and sports are very competitive here.
