My running buddy Diane and I have been experiencing some "technical" difficulties lately in our running. She plays competitive tennis and tends to injure her hamstring from time to time. I've been experiencing a different type of technical difficulty, of which I will spare you the details, but the two difficulties together have caused us to have to add some walking into our running. To be honest, we have been beating ourselves up a bit about this, but we always tell ourselves that anything we can do is better than staying in bed.
I think this quote is very appropriate for those times when we're not quite able to do everything we'd like to do for whatever reason:
"The only bad workout is the one that didn't happen." (www.hasfit.com)
As long as we give the best we have for that day or for that workout, we'll be fine.
And we'll appreciate even more those days when we're able to do everything that we want to do.
