Zach and Angela were married in the Bountiful, Utah, Temple one year ago yesterday.
Aren't they a very cute couple?! :o)
Zach met Angela in February 2010 at BYU-Idaho. He'd been back from his mission for three months and was in his second month of the semester. They dated that semester and we knew when he came home for the summer we were going to have the first wedding in our family.
Angela came to visit us in Arizona in late May, and it was fun to finally get to meet her and get to know her better.
Zach and Angela skyped every night of those five months between semesters, and Zach proposed in September after they both returned to school. Zach's proposal was very creative; he'd bought a book and had written and illustrated the story of all their dates and their courtship. The last page he'd drawn himself kneeling on one knee, proposing to her in the park where they were having their "proposal" date. (Although Angela didn't know it was the proposal date.) What Angela hadn't realized was that, while she was reading the book, he'd been playing with the ring she had on her ring finger and had actually taken taken it off and replaced it with her engagement ring (he'd asked me to go ring shopping with him in May - I was so excited he'd asked!).
Creative, yes?!
Very impressive.
I guess he'd been watching how creative and romantic his dad's been all these years. :o)
We flew out to Utah for the wedding and everything went really well. We hosted a luncheon after the wedding and then the reception was that night. We had family, who live in Utah, who were able to attend. We also had friends who had lived in Arizona, who now lived in Utah, who were also able to attend the reception. It was great to see everyone again!
Here are a couple more pictures (it was very cold and windy after the ceremony so we didn't get any good pictures of everyone). :o(
Right after they were married. I love how they're
looking at each other.
True happiness.
Yep. Love that look.
Angela has been really good for Zach. He tends to be a lot bit high strung, and Angela is just the opposite. They seem to complement each other very well. We're very thankful that she's a part of our family.
We don't get to see them very often, which is really hard. But we know they're taking good care of each other, and that they're doing what they know to be right.
And I'm very thankful for that.
