[10/4/11] Filled with Joy.

This is what I saw this morning when I went to wake up Kailen for seminary (at 5:15 am):

On her nightstand are her scriptures and the New Era, our church's youth magazine, which she's obviously been reading.

This reminded me of the scripture: "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." (3 John 1:4).

In this case, I saw that my daughter is walking in truth.

And it filled me with joy.

All my kids do things that fill me with this joy. No, they're not perfect; none of us are. But they are trying to "walk in truth."

-Kamala arranges her school schedule every semester so she can go to the Temple every week to do baptisms for the dead. It fills me with joy to know that going to the Temple is a priority for her.

-Zach and Angela read their scriptures together every single night.  I've seen this and it fills me with joy.

-Parker was invited to a party on a Sunday and didn't think twice about saying he wouldn't be there. This filled me with joy to know that he's trying to keep the Sabbath Day holy.

And I could go on...

When I see all the good things my kids are doing, like I saw this morning, it makes all the hard times (and our kids haven't really give us any really hard times) totally worth it.

And I have no greater joy as a Mother than to know that my kids are walking in truth.

I can't ask for anything more.
