Somehow, I've gotten into the habit of getting a pink binder for every English class I've taken. I don't know how this happened, but it did.

I really like these binders. The pretty pink color is very cheerful, especially when I'm not really feeling cheerful about doing my homework.
(Interestingly enough, my Science classes are in black binders. Hmmm....wonder what that means).
This semester I couldn't find a pink binder anywhere. I did find some one inch ones, but for my classes, one inch just isn't big enough; I needed a 1-1/2 inch one. I looked and looked and looked. I didn't want to settle for another color, because then my English binders wouldn't match. And that bothered me (see "About Me" #4).
After more looking, I finally accepted the fact that I'd have to settle for another color, so I got a plain white one. It was definitely not as cheerful as the pink ones.
Then, Monday night after FHE (Family Home Evening), Kailen and John were shopping at Walmart for some things he needed for this week's company-sponsored fly fishing trip. Kailen called me and said, "Mom, do you still want a pink binder?"
"Oh, yes!" I said.
And I was feeling a bit giddy.
They got home and I put all my English class stuff in the new pretty pink binder.
And I felt more cheerful already.
Kailen and I had to go back to Walmart yesterday for some YW stuff and to take care of our usual grocery needs, so I bought two more pretty pink binders for my next two English classes.
I know this seems like a very silly thing, but I'm a firm believer that we can find happiness in the small things in life.
Like a pretty pink binder.
