I have spent the past two Friday nights at Lake Hartwell. According to Google, Lake Hartwell is one of the biggest and most popular lakes in the Southeast.
Last Friday night our book club went to a fellow member's lake house and had a fabulous time. We talked until 1:30 am and slept in and ate yummy food and talked on the screened-in porch while looking at the beautiful lake and spent time in the hot tub and tried to go out on her pontoon boat but somebody had siphoned all the gas out. That last part was not fabulous. At all.
But....I didn't take one single picture. :o\
I really wasn't ready to come home Saturday afternoon, truth be told. I had laundry to do and I was really, really tired.
However, when I got home the laundry was all done! My awesome husband had washed, folded AND put away every single speck of our laundry (because the kids put away their own.)
Oh my goodness.
He got major ginormous brownie points for that one.
And, he and Kailen had cleaned the ENTIRE house! (Parker was taking his final ACT test so missed out on all the fun.)
I also spent this past Friday night at Lake Hartwell with our Young Women. We only had seven who could come because our Young Women are very busy with sports and school activities.
We ate and the leaders talked and the girls hung out, some until 3:00 am.
I woke up a little before the other leaders and spent some time sitting on the screened-in porch with my scriptures. It was awesome. I read awhile just for me and then studied for yesterday's seminary lesson. It was quiet, I could hear nature, and it was perfect. (It's getting almost cool enough to sit on our screened-in porch. Yeah!)
Later that morning we went for a ride on the ski boat.
Note to self: Do NOT go on a ski boat ever again unless you've ingested a healthy and strong dose of Dramamine first.
I've never been on a ski boat before. When John and I took the ferry to the Statue of Liberty in NYC it was stormy and the water was a little choppy and I did get a little nauseous.
For some odd reason, I did not remember this before getting on the ski boat. As this not-so-good feeling was getting worse I was wondering to myself what the correct ettiquette is for tossing cookies while riding in a ski boat. Off the side? Or what?
Thankfully, the girls who were riding in the "Super Mable" (large raft with handles) got tired of riding in it and we took it back to the dock to leave it before continuing on with our ski boat ride.
I did not continue on with the ski boat ride. I sat in a swing near the dock for awhile and talked to John. I told him I no longer really cared about ever owning a ski boat, and if we ever bought one we'd need to also invest in huge amounts of Dramamine or I would offer to stay on shore with the grandbabies.
He laughed.
We got all the girls back from their ski boat ride, fed them lunch, and loaded up to come home.
Once again, I did not take a single picture. :o\
I got home to:
Completed laundry (including folding and putting away)
And
A clean house. Parker helped this week. I'm sure he was thrilled.
I told John I should go away every Friday night.
He did not think that was a good idea.
But he did get another ginormous amount of brownie points. :o)
