[6/7/11] Monday Memories (well, Tuesday for this week) :o)

This morning I got to run on my favorite trail. We tagged along with John on his business trip to Orlando and the last time I was here I didn’t run on my trail and have regretted it ever since. This is the trail where I ran my long runs when I was training for my marathon back in 2000. We share a lot of memories, sweat and a few tears, this trail and I.

Today I ran 3 miles and I had forgotten how totally humid Florida is. It kicked me right in the patootie. But I loved every minute of it and wish I could’ve run more. I forgot to bring my tunes so I got to just think instead. I thought about so many things that have happened in my life since the last time I ran on this trail 8 ½ years ago before we moved to Arizona and then to Atlanta 1 year ago:

*Became a Certified Personal Training
*Started Personal Training Business – worked with awesome clients!
*Served with wonderful women and young women in church
*Went on an awesome family vacation to Hawaii
*Went to Hawaii two other times with John (we love Hawaii!)
*Got FREE braces (a story for another Monday)
*Adopted our two little girls (Chihuahuas), Abby and Hailey
*Made lots of friends who have become family
*Taught seminary (the early morning kind) to youth aged 14-18 for 2 years in Arizona and 1 year in Georgia
*Had half my thyroid removed – thankfully, no cancer (another story for another Monday)
*John (my most awesome husband):

got married and added Angela to our family
*Kamala (daughter #1):

did cross country and yearbook in high school
earned Young Womens Personal Progress Award at church
            got driver’s license
            graduated from high school
            went away to college
*Parker (son #2):
played soccer, basketball and flag football in middle school
            got braces
            went to high school
played high school basketball (freshman and sophomore)
            earned Eagle Scout award
pole vaulted on the Varsity track team
*Kailen (daughter #2):
            attended kindergarten through 8th grade
            played soccer in middle school
got straight As from kindergarten through 8th grade
was on the tech team at school
earned Young Womens Personal Progress Award at church
            got braces

And I’m sure there’s more, which I’ll add as I remember.

It’s been a wonderful 8 ½ years with trials, joys, additions and subtractions. But through it all I know my blessings have been multiplied. Many, many times.
